A page all about me…

As I’m sure you’ve gathered, my name is Eloise (Ellie to many) Porter. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Hobart and William Smith Colleges last May with a B.A. in English and a Minor in Media and Society.

My college experience truly shaped who I am today. Since imposter syndrome is very much real, I believe it’s important to remark upon your accomplishments. So here I am remarking…

I made the dean’s list every single semester in college. I was a civic engagement scholar and completed at least 20 hours of community service every semester. I was a Teaching Assistant for an introductory Media and Society class. And finally my senior year I won two awards, the Grant Holly Interdisciplinary Media Prize and The Kathryn D. Cook Comparative Literature Prize.

I’m very proud of my academic accomplishments. However, I value my collegiate experience because it solidified my love for storytelling. With a concentration in creative writing, I developed a love for all stories in all forms. From Shakespeare to Screenplays to WB Yeats, I love stories. Further, I found my voice that I want to share stories in and a voice that I hope outlives me. I’m unsure of where life will take me, but what I know for sure is that I will acquire many anecdotes and I won’t be afraid to tell them.
